This snow can be released by a single winter sport participant in some cases above approximately 2000 m. The avalanches in these loacations are only small but in many cases easily released. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in extreme terrain at intermediate and high altitudes and on wind-loaded slopes. <br/> In addition the hard wind slabs of last week in particular adjacent to ridgelines on north and east facing slopes and at high altitudes are capable of being triggered in isolated cases still. They are lying on weak layers on wind-protected shady slopes. The avalanches in these loacations are rather small and can mostly only be released by large loads. The old wind slabs are covered with new snow and therefore difficult to recognise.Over a wide area up to 10 cm of snow fell in the evening above approximately 1800 m. In the past few hours the wind was light. This snow and isolated small wind slabs are lying on a crust in all aspects.Rapid increase in danger of dry avalanches as a consequence of new snow and wind. At intermediate and high altitudes probably danger level 2 (moderate) will be reached.
