Wind slabs represent the main danger. Outside marked and open pistes a moderate danger will persist.
The wind slabs have formed adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls in all aspects. These can be released by a single winter sport participant, but they will be small in most cases. On very steep northeast, east and southeast facing slopes avalanches can be released in the various wind slab layers and reach medium size in isolated cases.
Snowpack
>
40 to 60 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen since Friday in all altitude zones. Over a wide area various wind slab layers are lying on a hard crust. 2 to 5 cm of snow will fall in the next few hours. At the southern and eastern borders of Aran as well as at high altitude snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.
Tendency
Slight increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of new snow and wind.
