Wet snow

Wind-drifted snow

As a consequence of the moist air individual moist snow slides are possible. The new snow of the last few days can be released in some cases above approximately 2300 m.
From the early morning as a consequence of the moist air there will be a gradual increase in the danger of moist snow slides. This applies on very steep slopes below approximately 2300 m, and in all aspects.
Extremely steep shady slopes: Some fresh snow as well as the small wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases in particular on north, east and south facing slopes above approximately 2300 m. The avalanches are small but in some cases easily released. The wind slabs are lying on a crust in all aspects.
Snowpack
>
In some localities 5 to 10 cm of snow fell in the last five days above approximately 2000 m.
Sunny slopes: The surface of the snowpack will cool hardly at all during the overcast night.
Shady slopes high altitudes: The snowpack is favourably layered and its surface consists of loosely bonded snow lying on a melt-freeze crust.
In all regions at intermediate and high altitudes less snow than usual is lying. At low altitude from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying.
Tendency
As a consequence of the precipitation the prevalence and size of the avalanche prone locations will increase on Wednesday.
