New snow

2000m

New snow and wind slabs above approximately 2000 m.
As a consequence of new snow and wind the previously small wind slabs will increase in size additionally during the night. These can in many cases be released by a single winter sport participant and reach medium size. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls above approximately 2200 m. They are barely recognisable because of the poor visibility.
The new snow is bonding poorly with the old snowpack in all aspects above approximately 2000 m. The avalanches in these loacations are small but in many cases easily released.

Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for meticulous route selection.
