Gliding avalanches and moist snow slides are the main danger.
Weakly bonded old snow in shady places that are protected from the wind.
Weakly bonded old snow in shady places that are protected from the wind.
Medium-sized and large gliding avalanches and moist snow slides are to be expected from the middle of the day. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep grassy slopes at low and intermediate altitudes.
Soft weak layers exist in the top section of the snowpack in particular on steep, little used northwest, north and east facing slopes. Weak layers in the upper part of the snowpack can be released in some places by individual winter sport participants. Areas where the snow cover is rather shallow are especially dangerous. In very isolated cases avalanches can penetrate deep layers and reach large size.
Experience in the assessment of avalanche danger is advisable. Caution is to be exercised in areas with glide cracks.

Snowpack
>
In all regions in all altitude zones a very large amount ofsnow is lying for the time of year.
During the day on very steep grassy slopes numerous medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large avalanches occurred naturally.
Shady slopes: The new snow of the last few days is lying on soft layers on rather lightly snow-covered shady slopes and at intermediate and high altitudes. Faceted weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in particular on grassy slopes.

Tendency
Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be quite good. Slight decrease in danger of gliding avalanches and moist snow slides.
