Wind slabs represent the main danger.
The wind slabs are mostly shallow but prone to triggering. The somewhat older wind slabs will be covered with new snow in some cases and therefore difficult to recognise. These can in many places be released by a single winter sport participant and reach medium size. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on steep northeast, east and south facing slopes, and adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas above approximately 2000 m.
The new snow can be released by a single winter sport participant in all aspects below the tree line. In many cases the avalanches in these loacations are small.

Snowpack

Over a wide area 15 to 20 cm of snow fell in the last three days above approximately 1500 m. 5 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall until the evening. The northwesterly wind will transport the fresh and old snow. Over a wide area new snow and wind slabs are lying on the smooth surface of an old snowpack.
Tendency
Gradual increase in danger of dry avalanches as a consequence of new snow and wind. From early morning danger level 3 (considerable) will be reached.
