Old wind slabs require caution. Dry and moist snow slides are possible.
The fresh and older wind slabs of the last few days must be evaluated with care and prudence in particular on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2100 m. The more recent wind slabs are mostly small but can be released easily. They have formed in particular adjacent to ridgelines on west facing slopes. The somewhat older wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads,. In isolated cases these are medium-sized.

On very steep shady slopes and in places that are protected from the wind dry snow slides are possible, but they will be mostly small.

In particular on very steep sunny slopes only isolated gliding avalanches and moist snow slides are possible as a consequence of solar radiation.

The conditions are quite favourable for backcountry touring and other off-piste activities in steep terrain. The current avalanche situation calls for meticulous route selection.
Snowpack

The easterly wind has transported the loosely bonded old snow. In some cases the various wind slabs have bonded poorly with each other and the old snowpack. Released avalanches and field observations indicate this situation.

Especially at intermediate and high altitudes a very large amount ofsnow is lying for the time of year. In addition, snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.
Tendency
The old snowpack will become soft over a wide area. The wind slabs are bonding only slowly with the old snowpack in particular on shady slopes. Slight increase in danger of gliding avalanches and moist snow slides as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation.
