Avalanche Problem
Wind-drifted snow

Treeline

New snow

Fresh wind slabs represent the main danger.
Adjacent to ridgelines on north, east and south facing slopes mostly shallow wind slabs formed. In very isolated cases they are medium-sized and can be released easily by a single winter sport participant. At the border to Ribagorça and Pallars and at high altitude the avalanche prone locations are more prevalent and the danger is greater.
In addition especially in places that are protected from the wind, individual small dry loose snow avalanches are possible. The prevalence of avalanche prone locations and likelihood of triggering will increase in the middle of the day.

Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger.
Snowpack
>
5 to 15 cm of snow has fallen since Wednesday above approximately 1800 m. The sometimes moderate wind has transported some snow.
The fresh wind slabs are to be found adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and generally in the high Alpine regions. They are lying on unfavourable layers in particular on little used shady slopes and at intermediate and high altitudes.
Tendency
Slight increase in danger of dry avalanches as a consequence of the precipitation.
