Wind slabs and gliding snow require caution.
The no longer entirely fresh wind slabs of the last few days must be evaluated with care and prudence in all aspects at high altitude. The various wind slabs can still be released in some cases in particular on very steep shady slopes. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in shady places that are protected from the wind and adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas in all aspects. The avalanches can in some cases reach medium size.

In addition as the day progresses in all aspects, some small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized gliding avalanches are possible.

The wind slabs are poorly bonded with the old snowpack especially on wind-protected shady slopes. Released avalanches and field observations indicate a sometimes unfavourable avalanche situation on steep, little used shady slopes. Over a wide area 30 to 40 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen since Monday above approximately 2000 m. The northwesterly wind has transported the new snow significantly. On Friday it will be mostly sunny. Off-piste activities call for meticulous route selection.
Tendency
Saturday: Slight increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of new snow and wind.
