New snow and wind slabs at intermediate and high altitudes.
The small quantity of fresh snow and in particular the mostly small wind slabs that are forming in particular at elevated altitudes can be released easily in all aspects. The somewhat older wind slabs can still be released in some cases in particular on steep shady slopes. They are covered with new snow in some cases and therefore difficult to recognise. In particular very steep shady slopes areas where the snow cover is rather shallow: They can in isolated cases be triggered in the old snowpack and reach dangerously large size.
Extremely steep slopes and sunny slopes: As a consequence of the new snow loose snow slides are possible, but they will be mostly small. In addition a latent danger of gliding avalanches exists.
The current avalanche situation calls for meticulous route selection.

Snowpack
>
Over a wide area 5 to 10 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall until the evening. The sometimes moderate wind will transport only a little snow. The various wind slabs of the last few days remain in some cases prone to triggering in all aspects and generally at high altitude. On Monday it will be sunny at times.
Large-grained weak layers exist in the bottom section of the old snowpack in particular on shady slopes. Areas where the snow cover is rather shallow where hard layers are lying on a weakly bonded old snowpack are especially precarious. At intermediate altitudes there are 120 to 200 cm of snow, and even more in some localities.

Tendency
Up to high altitudes rain will fall on Tuesday. Significant increase in danger of dry and moist avalanches as a consequence of the precipitation.
